CONFERENCE POSTPONED - DATE TO BE ANNOUNCED - PLEASE READ PDF DOCUMENT
September 12, 2001
Dear Roundtable Participant:
Despite the horrible terrorist attacks against our country and our government, the decision has been made to go forward with the Roundtable.
We share in the indignation and anguish over the massive loss of life that has gripped all Americans and all freedom loving peoples around the world.
There is no cause or injustice, real or imagined that can in any way explain or justify these cowardly acts. We condemn the attacks and urge our government to act swiftly and decisively to bring the perpetrators and all active and passive participants to justice. We stand ready to do anything we can to assist our government and our fellow citizens to deal with the aftermath of this catastrophe.
The Steering Committee has been in constant communication with the U.S. government since the infamous events of September 11, 2001. Officials at Congress, the Department of State, Department of Defense and the White House all indicated that the Roundtable should be convened as scheduled. Significantly, the Roundtable includes sessions devoted to global security and law enforcement, which, under the circumstances, will figure prominently in the deliberations.
We too believe that the event should go forward and are making arrangements to assure that the disruptions that have occurred and that will continue to impact American society for days and months to come will be mitigated to the extent necessary for the Roundtable to be held.
The Roundtable will convene Thursday, September 20, 2001, registration: 8:15 A.M., first speaker: 8:50 A.M. The conference venue is the U.S. Capitol Building, Senate Caucus Room 5, (SC5). You should use the entrances to the Capitol Building near Constitution Avenue or Independence Avenue. Proceed to the center of the building (directly under the dome) from where you will see stairs going down to the Senate Caucus Rooms. There will be conference staff to direct you.
Our prayers are with the families of the innocent victims of the terrorist attacks. May those who lost their lives find eternal peace with the Lord and may He grant their families the strength to persevere through these difficult times. God Bless America.

International Affairs Experts to Address U.S.-Ukraine Conference WARREN, MI — A broad array of international affairs experts will convene in Washington, DC this month at an international conference titled "Ukraine’s Quest for Mature Nation Statehood: Roundtable II—Taking Measure of a U.S.-Ukraine Strategic Partnership". The presentations and discussions will focus on U.S.-Ukraine strategic relations and Ukraine’s role in world and regional affairs.
