Kyiv Independence celebration concerts

Detroit's own Ukrainian Bandurist Chorus performed at the Ukraina Palace in Kyiv on Saturday evening, August 18th, at the Gala Concert sponsored by the Third World Forum of Ukrainians. The 3-hour long concert featured performances by more tham 50 Ukrainian groups from around the world.

On stage at the gala "Welcoming Independence" concert held at Palace Ukraina on Thursday, August 23rd. The event was attended by Ukrainian President Kuchma, Russian President Putin, Polish President Kwasniewski and other dignitaries from around the world. A rather lengthy speech by President Kuchma was followed by exceptional musical performances by groups from all over Ukraine.
