- Day 3 at the ASN conference

New York, April 8 - The Association for the Study of Nationalities (ASN) Convention ended yesterday with a number of stimulating panels and roundtable sessions dealing with current issues in Ukraine.

One of the better attended discussions of the ASN convention was the one devoted to the current political crisis. Panelists presented various perspectives about the status of free press, the high profile Gongadze case, and the political implications of the "Kuchmagate" tape scandal. An insider's view was provided by Olena Prytula, Chief Editor of the Internet news website "Ukrayinska Pravda" founded by murdered journalist Heorhiy Gongadze. Expert opinions and analyses of the situation in Ukraine were provided by scholars Marta Dyczok, Olya Andriewsky, George Grabowicz, and Roman Kupchinksy, the head of RFE/RL Ukraine Service.
