Conference Commemorating 15th Anniversary of Chornobyl at UN

Short Hills, NJ- The 15th Anniversary of the Chornobyl nuclear disaster will be commemorated at a conference at the United Nations headquarters in the ECOSOC conference room in New York. The Chornobyl Commemoration conference: "Economics of a Catastrophe" will be held on Thursday, April 26th from 10 am to 1 pm and 3 pm to 6 pm. The Chornobyl Commemoration is part of the Tenth International Conference on Health and Environment: Global Partners for Global Solutions. The conference is organized by the World Information Transfer, Inc. in collaboration with the Children of Chornobyl Relief Fund, and the Governments of Ukraine and Greece. The World Information Transfer is a non- profit NGO in consultative status with the United Nations, promoting environmental health and the Children of Chornobyl Relief Fund is a humanitarian organization established to protect and save the lives of children confronting the human legacy of the world's worst environmental disaster. This will be an important occasion to inform the world community about the continuing aftermath of the Chornobyl disaster, its impact on the global environment and public health. The conference will feature world-renowned experts who will provide their insights on the current health crisis in Ukraine and Eastern Europe. We are proud to co-chair this conference with the Government of Ukraine, the Government of Greece, and the World Information Transfer, Inc. Although the conference is free, you must register in advance, due to very strict security requirements at the United Nations. There is a fee for the luncheons to be held on Thursday and Friday.
