CALL FOR OCCASIONAL PAPERS
East European Studies at the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars is currently soliciting submissions for its Occasional Papers Series from various disciplines in the humanities field of East European studies. We accept papers that are policy-relevant in content and which fall within one of the following discipline categories: political science, history, anthropology, sociology, and Slavic languages and literatures. The manuscripts should provide analyses of events and issues associated with the former Soviet-bloc countries of Central and Eastern Europe, including the Baltic states and the former Yugoslav nations, but excluding the countries of Russia, Ukraine, the NIS states or Germany except in a strictly comparative format. These articles are academic papers meant to provide readers with more detailed information on various topics of the region and are usually chapter-length in size (35 - 50 pages). The format should be standard Chicago Manual style with endnotes (not footnotes) and an attached bibliography.
EES regularly publishes these papers for dissemination in printed booklet format and makes the text available for downloading in .PDF format on the program's website. Please provide all manuscripts in both hard and electronic copies (Word or Word Perfect). Submissions are accepted on a rolling basis; there is no formal deadline. You may direct all inquiries to Program Assistant, Meredith Knepp at: kneppm@wwic.si.edu. All inquiries are welcome.
