www.ClintonVisit.com Is Launched – Clinton’s Speech to be Cybercast

June 1, 2000 Kiev, Ukraine -- Ambassador Steven Pifer, U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine, (second from left) assisted in launching the www.ClintonVisit.com website at a press conference in Kiev on Thursday, June 1. The website designed by GalaNet went live at 12:00 noon on Thursday, June 1, 2000. The site is being hosted by Golden Telecom on its servers in Kiev, Ukraine.
The multilingual site is tracking President Clinton’s final European trip with stops in Portugal, Germany, Russia and ending in Kiev, Ukraine. The site contains news, photos and information about President Clinton’s trip. It will be updated on a 24/7 basis throughout his trip.
In addition to the information supplied, visitors will be able to watch the outdoor concert and speech by President Clinton on Monday, June 5 on the site via its cybercast link. The cybercast will begin approximately at 3:00 p.m. Kiev time (1:00 p.m. GMT). The digital video cybercast will be the first of its kind in Ukraine. The cybercast will broadcast the Gala Concert, featuring six music groups and the Odessa Philharmonic Orchestra, which will proceed President Clinton’s speech to the Ukrainian people.
