Lazarenko's extradition hearing delayed - again
San Francisco (BRAMA) - The extradition hearing for Pavlo Lazarenko which was scheduled for today at the Northern California District Court has been postponed.
According to Lazarenko's attorney, Michael Handwerker, a status conference will take place on June 26, and the hearing has been rescheduled for July 24, 2000 (confirmed).
Former Ukrainian Prime Minister Pavlo Lazarenko is currently being held in California. Extradition is being sought by Swiss authorities who have charged Lazarenko in a money laundering scheme. He is also wanted in Ukraine on charges of theft of $2.1 million.
