Problemy dlya obhovorennya: 1. Formuvannya informatsijnykh resursiv: tradytsijni i avtomatyzovani tekhnolohii. 2. Stvorennya vlasnykh informatsiinykh resursiv - perspektyvnyj napriam diyal'nosti bibliotek. 3. Informatsiini resursy elektronnykh bibliotek. Stanovlennia i rozvytok. 4. Bibliotechna orhanizatsiya znannia: klasyfikatsiya, katalohizatsiya, systemy poshuku. 5. Novitni tekhnolohii vykorystannya informatsijnykh resursiv. 6. Natsional'nyj bibliotechno-informatsijnyj resurs: prohramy i tekhnolohii zberezhennya. 7. Mizhbibliotechna kooperatsiya v systemi svitovoho obminu informatsijnymy resursamy. We are pleased to invite you to attend the International Scientific Conference "Libraries - the centres of scientific and information resources of the XXI century" to be held on October 10-13, 2000 in Kyiv.

• Council of the Directors of Scientific Libraries and Information Centres of the Academy of Sciences
• members of the International Association of the Academy of Sciences.

• The information resources formation: traditional and computer technologies.
• Creation of the own information resources - the perspective direction of the libraries activity.
• Information resources of the electronic libraries. Formation and development.
• The process of library knowledge organizing: classification, catalogization, search system.
• New technologies in using the information resources.
• National library and information resources: programs and preservation technologies.
• Interlibrary cooperation in the system of world-wide exchange of information resources.

Arrival and registration of the delegates from foreign countries - October 9, 2000.

The Conference will begin at 10:00 a.m. on October 10, 2000 in the conference hall of the Vernads’ky National Library of Ukraine.

Applicants should send abstracts or papers on 10-12 typed pages that include also a short information about the author (name, surname, science degree, present employement and duties, phone, fax, E-mail) to the organizing committee by August 1, 2000.
