About TWGCF
The Washington Group Cultural Fund
was organized in 1994 to foster and
promote Ukrainian culture in the Washington Metropolitan Area. The Cultural
Fund plans events which bring Ukrainian art, music, dance, film and
literature into Washington's cultural mainstream, taking advantage of its
unique location to attract members of the international and diplomatic
community, as well as political and cultural leaders, in a variety of
different venues which include The Kennedy Center, the Embassy of Ukraine,
and local universities, museums, and churches. Over the past couple of years,
the Cultural Fund has featured the Odessa Philharmonic Orchestra, the
Berkeley Chamber Chorus, the Yara Arts Group, contemporary Ukrainian films
directed by Castelli and Saveliev and produced by Ihor Fedorowycz, pianist
Volodymyr Vynnytsky and cellist Vagram Saradjian, jazz pianist John Stetch,
soprano Oksana Krovytska, the Les Kurbas Young Theatre of Lviv, and winners
of the Horowitz International Piano Competition.
